Important Information About Your Appointment

Initial appointment
When you arrive for your appointment please check-in on the computer at the front desk. If you need to brush your teeth, please go to the restroom where there will be a toothbrush and toothpaste and then return to the waiting area until your name is called.

At this appointment Dr. Ault will examine you or your child's teeth thoroughly and discuss any concerns you may have. You would leave our office that day with a quote stating what sort of treatment is needed and an estimated cost.

Diagnostic records
At this appointment, our assistants will take x-rays, models of the teeth, and facial photos. With this information, Dr. Jeff will develop a treatment plan and payment plan for you. He will discuss this information with you at the consultation.

At the consultation appointment, Dr. Ault will sit down with you and discuss his findings as well as a step by step treatment plan. This is also the time when the exact fee will be given.

Regular Appointments

Your first few appointments will usually be longer and closer together. Generally your appointments will range anywhere between 4 to 10 weeks and last about 10 to 30 minutes.

Appointment times will vary and are scheduled depending on the appointment type and what Dr. Jeff and Dr. Stan have planned for each patient at each appointment. Most regular monthly appointments last 10 minutes. Our office only confirms appointments that will be 20 minutes or longer on the day prior to the appointment. Therefore, it's important to update your information with the receptionist.
If you have a broken appliance (bracket, band, retainer) and have a regular monthly appointment scheduled, please call to let us know as soon as possible, so we can allow for enough time at your regular appointment to correct the problem.

In some cases, we may want to see you sooner to correct the problem. If you arrive to your regularly scheduled appointment with a broken bracket or wire, please let your assistant know immediately. We'll make every effort to repair any breakage and complete your regular appointment as well, if time allows.
If you have an appliance (headgear, retainer, space maintainer) that you're wearing, please bring it with you to each appointment so that we can check that it fits properly. Elastics are usually recommended for patients and should be worn as instructed by your assistant or doctor.

Appointment Times and Missed Appointments

We understand that most people seeking orthodontic treatment have other important obligations during the day. We have devoted much time and effort to design a schedule that is convenient for you. We'll work with you to schedule around your school or work schedule as much as possible. You'll notice that longer appointments, which are few in number, are scheduled during school/work hours and shorter appointments can be scheduled either before or after school/work.
  • Checks, wire changes, and minor adjustments (7:00 AM – 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM – 3:50 PM)
  • Bondings, bandings, and records (8:00 AM – 10:30 AM and 2:00 PM – 2:30 PM)
  • Examination and consultations (11:00 AM – 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM – 5:00 PM)
Your scheduled appointment time has been reserved specifically for you. We request that you call to change or cancel your appointment prior to your appointment.
